This is the first post-Love album from the late, great Arthur Lee. Although it's not on the same level as Love's best work, it's still a great album that showcases Lee's looser, bluesy style. It seems that Lee was heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix during this time, which isn't surprising considering he had recorded some music with Hendrix before his death. Lee and Hendrix have history that dates back to when Hendrix was a session guitarist for the Isley Brothers. I can only imagine how sweet it would have been if the two had recorded an album together. For some reason, this album is no longer in print and sells for absurd amounts of money online, so don't sleep.

I don't know if that statements true, I didn't have very high hopes when I bought this album but was very happy to be shocked on first listen. There are some great songs on here, I think "Everybody's Got to Live" goes on the list with Arthur's best evers.
There's some other strong songs on here, I really like this album. Arthur's vocals are really strong, and I think its the best recording of his voice I've every heard, it sounds great and really gets inside you.
The band was clearly really well rehearsed, the only rub I have is the production isn't as good as is should have been on some of the songs, apparently the album was recorded really quickly.
Its really a shame that this album wasn't given more emphasis by the record company, both during the recording/production and promotion phases. I think this could really re-launched Arthur's career, but unfortunately I guess that just wasn't in the cards for him.
I think it probably bugged some people (and reviewers) that a lot of the tracks were heavily Hendrix influenced, but I don't have any proble with that, I love Hendrix and Arthur's take on him is pretty cool.
Especially if you would like to hear what a hard edged Arthur Lee would sound like, definitely give this album a shot.
